Who does the customer need to
trade with? (Check all that apply)
|
Who does the company need to trade with?
This question refers to the types of companies your customer will need to
exchange EDI documents with.
Typically, companies trade EDI documents with their customers who require it.
Your customer may require their suppliers to use EDI with them and for
companies that use remote warehouses, they often need an electronic way to send
sales orders to the warehouse to be prepared for fulfillment.

EDI?
|
Does your customer currently use EDI?
EDI stands for Electronic Data Interchange and is a method of transmitting
purchase orders, invoices and other revenue-associated documents between
business partners.
If your customer receives orders via their customer’s web site, or if they
manually enter data to transmit to their customer over the web, you should
choose the second box. If your customer receives and sends transactions through
their ERP system, accounting system, or other system, they are using integrated
EDI

What is the
estimated number of EDI documents that will be transmitted each month?
Enter number of documents or provide us with ranges below
Typically, if you’re customer is exploring EDI they have a customer that is
requiring it or they have several customers that require it and the volume is
such that it has become cumbersome to administrate. If your customer is
mandated to use EDI they typically must be able to receive an EDI purchase
order (1 document), return an electronic acknowledgement of receipt (2nd
document), they may be required to send an Advanced Ship Notice (3rd document)
and usually an electronic invoice as well (4th document). To estimate monthly
documents:
-
Add up the number of documents they must exchange for each order In our example
above they need to exchange 4 documents.
-
Multiply the above number by the number of orders they receive each month from
the customer
For example, if your customer has 10 trading partners (customers) that require
EDI using 4 documents (Purchase Order, Acknowledgement, Advance Ship Notice,
and Invoice), and each trading partner places 10 unique orders each month the
monthly volume of EDI documents is 400 documents each month. (10 customers x 10
orders per month, x 4 documents per order)
